A seasoned and visionary Business Turnaround Expert and Brand Development Champion with career hallmarked with success and spanning over 26 years in setting the retail business strategic direction, managing brands in alignment with the overall organizations’ vision, business objectives and marketing strategy, while orchestrating an effective business turnaround of loss-making units. He demonstrates strategic and operational excellence with experience in managing a portfolio of several brands as well as leading a holistic expansion of retail chains.

Over the years, he has played a significant role in developing and executing strategies that maximize sales, operating income, brand equity, customer satisfaction, and consumer engagement. During his stint at Apex Footwear Ltd, he acted as a Brand Builder by essaying a stellar role in the launch of Men’s Fashion Wear in 2020 and Men’s Innerwear in 2017. Also contributed to the launch of Galleria - a bouquet of international brands for the first time in Bangladesh.

Additionally, he has been instrumental in establishing and launching "Being Human" as well as creating and promoting brand strategies, driving brand growth and expansion, and increasing volume and profitability.

Mr. Pillai comes with his vast and diverse experience in managing financial performance, owning P&L and establishing strategic plans aligned with business objectives. He is able to develop compelling value propositions for services and campaigns towards promoting relationships and generating revenue.

He has completed his post-graduation in Senior Leadership from XLRI and
Master of Business Applications (International Business & Marketing) from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
